Grizzly Bear Facts:
Adult male Grizzly Bears generally weigh between 600 and 900 pounds (although the largest Alaskan Grizzlies can weigh over 1,300 pounds!). These bears can be well over seven feet tall when standing on their hind paws. A Grizzly's weapons include huge paws with claws that are 4 to 5 inches long and powerful jaws that can exert over 750 pounds of force! Even a small grizzly bear yearling (weighing around 50 pounds) can easily overpower a full grown man. Grizzly are astonishingly fast and agile. At a full charge, a grizzly can cover 100 yards in just over 6 seconds while traveling at speeds between 25 and 30 mph!
